"This is one of the best hotels - if not THE best - I have ever stayed in. It is a historic building which has been converted for hotel use in very imaginative ways. Our room was lovely - large, with a very high ceiling so adapted that we could lie in bed and look up at a beautiful timbered ceiling above the smartly contemporised lower part. Our windows had original wooden shutters, perfect for adjusting to various temperatures and light by opening or closing various segments. The inner gallery outside the rooms is a lovely place for afternoon siestas or reading, with such comfortable chairs and footstools. The breakfasts were outstanding, elegantly arranged, and served on a very private cool outside terrace. Our overall impression of this hotel was of excellent management so that everywhere was spotlessly clean, staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed something but otherwise unobtrusive. We could go on, and on ... but the only way to find how good it is is to go and see!"

"The hotel is in a traditional style, built around an open courtyard/ patio, with splendid tall plants and a relaxing atmosphere – a lovely place for an afternoon pot of tea! We stayed in a junior suite, which was spacious and well-equipped. (The only very minor criticism is that the safe was in a very awkward place on the floor in the wardrobe!). The room incorporated a modern bathroom (with good-sized, efficient shower, but no bath) while retaining original walls, beams and ornate wooden ceiling."

" Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was superb. Again, on a nice morning, there is seating available outside. The cold buffet selection was extensive for a hotel of this size, and very well presented, with a particularly good selection of prepared fresh fruit, as well as a good variety of breads, croissants, pastries, cheeses, ham, jams, etc. Coffee/ tea and delicious fresh orange juice was served to the table, and the waitress doing breakfast service was always friendly and efficient. A computer with internet was available for guest use in one of the lounges."

"A very beautiful hotel surrounding a large patio. An enormous bedroom, very old parquet floor... A surprise: a pigeonnier in which to enjoy a light read at the end of the day and look over the village from on high, and on the other side, a small sauna and jacuzzi in the open air. Practical aspects: access to the public swimming pool filled with sea water from just the other side of the road, ideal for unwinding after cycling. A very pleasant stopover, surrounded by two churches and a little bandstand where the residents play and listen to football matches on the radio under the watching eye of a bronze statue by Simon Bolivar".
