Finca De La Salinas is a classic mansion painted in traditional ochre and white, with a romantic avenue of exotic trees in the grounds. Inside, the hotel is decorated with a stylish mixture of well preserved antiques and modern designer furniture. Right through the house there are seductive little corners offering excellent views of the Timanfaya National Park and the Fire Mountains.
Many of the guest rooms are in what were once the stables, now carefully refurbished by architect Ángel García Puertas to offer guests all the luxuries of modern living. The lively colours and subtle lighting are a potent mix to gladden the heart of the most jaded visitor. The lounge too, is a delight, with beautiful wicker cane furniture and an avant gard roof of glass and steel that lets the light pour through.
Finca de las Salinas is situated in the beautiful village of Yaiza, well away from the usual tourist centres, where all the houses retain the traditional white walls and green windows. Guests can choose to relax by the hotel's own pool in the beautiful volcanic gardens, on the nearby beaches at Papagayo or indulge themselves in the new Spa Las Salinas which includes hammam, sauna, numerous hydrotherapies, massages, etc, etc. For the more energetic, there is a gymnasium, a tennis court and the opportunity to walk for miles in the Timanfaya National Park.
Restaurant:
Finca de las Salinas has two great restaurants, Restaurante Maria Teresa and Bodega Don Gonzalo. Careful service, attention to detail, colourful atmosphere and a warm ambience make an ideal setting to enjoy an exquisite selection of dishes prepared under the gastronomic guidance of Chef Joachim Koerper (recipient of 5 Michelin Stars).Restaurante Maria Teresa is characterised by its fusion cuisine, merging tastes, colours and textures of traditional and modern cooking. In the Bodega diners can enjoy less elaborate but certainly no less delicious dishes and tapas.
A Word From the Owner:
"Our achievement is to let our guests feel like being home away from home. My staff and I always want to give a personal and familiar treatment within a natural and peaceful environment."Hotel Amenities:

Nearby Amenities:
Walking (various routes around the area offer the opportunity to see all of the Timanfaya National Park and to visit the beaches at Papagayo. There are also spectacular views across to the islands of Fuerteventura and Lobos). Lanzarote is dominated by the volcanic cones and lava fields that were thrown up by the volcanic eruptions of the 18th century. Wherever you go, on foot, on bicycle or in a car, the scenery is spectacular and verging on the surreal.
The beaches at Papagayo are beautiful and peaceful.
The Green Lake at El Golfo takes the form of a crescent, resting against the side of a former volcanic crater. It's distinctive colour comes from the unique shellfish called Clicos that live there in abundance.
The whole island of Lanzarote has been designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, international recognition of the importance of both the natural
and man-made features that make the island unique.
What We Say:
Finca De Las Salinas is a wonderful place to relax and recharge the batteries. Swim, sunbathe, take an aromatherapy massage, finish the day with a game of tennis in the cool of the late afternoon. But more than that, it's a comfortable pied-a-terre for those who want to discover the beautiful, haunting, spectacular island of Lanzarote.Customer Feedback:
Finca las Salinas is convenient for Arrecife airport whilst being well away from the flight path and main tourist areas. The hotel was moderately busy when we were there - but it was pleasantly quiet and undisturbed. The time of year and pretty bad weather probably kept people indoors too!
We arrived to find a warm welcome from the chap on reception who showed us to our room - a junior suite made up for us and our 4 year-old daughter - so all was as we had requested.
The rooms are very well appointed, with all the touches that make a stay comfortable - aircon, bathrobes, mini-bar and large comfy beds! Parking is easy and close to the rooms. The stable area rooms are reasonable for wheelchair access, whilst the main house would require assistance.
The main area of the hotel is lovely - lots of seating, a cosy bar and interesting garden areas for enjoying the sun. Breakfast was good - plenty of choice and excellent coffee! All the staff we met were relaxed and welcoming - happy to chat and answer questions when asked.
The views of the surrounding area are exploited to the full - particularly in the pool area. Yaiza itself is one of the larger towns in "real" Lanzarote - a number of restaurants close by and few tourist traps. K.H.
