Right at the heart of a 200 acre estate, the hotel is a splendid example of colonial style and elegance reflecting all the joys of a more relaxed and slower pace of life. The finca is the oldest in the islands, founded in 1572, and has been in the family of the Marquises of Arucas since the 18th century. Today, the present owners are careful to preserve the full historic character of the building and the lands around, while providing guests with all the modern luxuries they may desire.

Hacienda del Buen Suceso has delightful gardens with terraces and a lovely swimming pool, all looking out onto the lush green countryside beyond. To work up an appetite for one of the superb meals on offer you can choose between the jacuzzi and fitness room, or a gentle stroll through the banana plantation. Then take an aperitif in the magnificent Tres Palmas lounge before going through to eat.

Each of the 13 double rooms and 5 suites is individually decorated, but all in the same elegant style making the fullest use of the rich wood and rustic stone of the house. There are sloping rafters, fine fabrics and canopied beds in abundance, as well as the modern luxuries of life. The gentle waft of pure Canarian air makes air-conditioning superfluous.

This is a hotel in a convenient location, yet amply endowed with the space and beauty of its rural setting. It also offers ready access for the disabled.

The restaurant at Hacienda Del Buen Suceso is in the converted stables and carriage yard. This beautiful rustic location is notable not only for the setting but for a gastronomic style that brings subtle new nuances to traditional dishes.
